After months of speculation, it’s confirmed: the critically acclaimed, Tony award-winning musical Dear Evan Hansen is finally coming to the Philippines.
The musical will be staged this September 2025 at The Theatre at Solaire.
Dear Evan Hansen tells the story of Evan, an anxious high school student longing for a sense of belonging. When a misunderstanding spirals into something far bigger than he ever imagined, he faces an impossible decision: tell the truth and lose everything or embrace a lie that brings him closer to the life he has always dreamed of. As the story unfolds, Evan navigates the complexities of truth, connection, and self-acceptance in a world that often feels isolating.
Dear Evan Hansen has been recognized as one of the most impactful musicals of the past decade. It has won four Tony Awards, including Best Musical, the Olivier Award for Best New Musical, and the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album.
ATG Productions, Gavin Kalin Productions, and Nottingham Playhouse produce the UK touring production of Dear Evan Hansen. The musical features music by Emmy, Grammy, Tony, and Oscar-winning duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul and a book by Steven Levenson.
Since its Broadway debut in 2016, Dear Evan Hansen has touched the hearts of audiences worldwide, earning praise for its powerful themes and performances. The New York Times called it “a breathtaking knockout of a musical,” while the Washington Post hailed it as “one of the most remarkable shows in musical theater history.”
Critics have also praised the UK tour production, with WhatsOnStage raving, “Voices you could listen to for forever,” Birmingham Mail calling it “truly breathtaking,” and Nottingham Post declaring it “one of the most relevant, compelling, thought-provoking musicals I’ve seen… and it’s also hugely entertaining.”
