I’ve never really understood hunting and killing living creatures as a hobby. Maybe it’s just me…. maybe I’m a bit soft… but I really don’t get how hurting or killing other living beings can be considered a sport, a hobby or something recreational. Well… mosquitoes are ok… set up that sport! Like a mosquito killing championship where the individual or company that kills the most mosquitoes wins! I’m all for that!
Anyway, kidding aside, hunting animals really bothers me.
Although months old, these photos of Chavit Singson killing a lion are just now circulating and getting some viral traction online.
The original article, seemingly celebrating Chavit Singson’s kills, was posted on the Philippine Times of Southern Nevada.

In the original articles, it states that the former Ilocos Sur Governor, Luis “Chavit” Singson, hunted and killed this lion and antelope in the Kalahari Desert as part of his birthday festivities.
Chavit Singson and his family were so happy about the kills that they even made it into cakes. Seen below are the cakes of Chavit Singson and his dead antelope trophy.

Reports state that these kills are completely legal… based on a document signed by men. The lion and any other animals were not consented when making these “laws.”
Chavit Singson was also recently under stress from the online community as reports of him and his daughter, Richelle Louise Singson-Michael, having hunted protected species of ducks made it’s rounds online.

There are currently online petitions asking Chavit Singson to stop hunting. Sadly, the only thing that will change, if anything, is that these rich people will post less pictures of their once living trophies.
