Celine Dion Is Back on Stage After Six Years—Here’s What to Expect

After more than six years away from live performances, Celine Dion is preparing to return to the stage in Paris, her team confirmed. The iconic singer will also release a new single, written by one of her most celebrated collaborators, Jean-Jacques Goldman, best known for the album D’eux, which helped cement her global fame.

Dion will perform her new single during her upcoming Paris La Défense Arena residency, which runs for five weeks starting September 12, 2026.

Dion’s last major tour, the Courage World Tour, began in late 2019 but was cut short first by the COVID-19 pandemic and later by her health issues. In December 2022, she revealed she had been diagnosed with stiff person syndrome (SPS), a rare autoimmune disorder that can cause severe muscle stiffness.

Despite the challenges, Dion shared on social media that she is feeling well and managing her condition.

“I want to let you know that I’m doing great, managing my health, feeling good,” she wrote.

Over the past few years, she has made notable public appearances, including a performance from the Eiffel Tower during the Paris 2024 Olympics opening ceremony. The landmark was illuminated again recently with messages reading “Paris, I’m ready,” while her cover of Edith Piaf’s “L’hymne a l’amour” played for the gathered crowd.

Dion’s career began in 1988 when she represented Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest with the French-language song “Ne partez pas sans moi,” which won her the prize. She transitioned to the English-language market the following year with “Where Does My Heart Beat Now,” leading to decades of global success, more than 260 million albums sold, and five Grammy Awards, including two for her signature hit “My Heart Will Go On.”

Speaking to fans, Dion expressed gratitude for their ongoing support.

“Even in my most difficult times, you were there for me. You’ve helped me in ways that I can’t even describe,” she said, noting that she is now “singing again, even doing a little bit of dancing.”

Her Paris residency will include ten shows over five weeks, marking a highly anticipated return for one of pop music’s most enduring voices.
