A film’s scoring makes up a huge part of the experience, and for some franchises—like Star Wars—the music is almost as big as the movie itself. You hear “The Imperial March” and immediately think of a company of Storm Troopers marching on to battle, with Darth Vader tailing closely with his long black cape fluttering majestically behind. And there’s no question that Star Wars has some of the most iconic pieces of music in movie history.

And so movie buffs and Star Wars fans are in for the best treat this year as Star Wars: A New Hope returns to the big screen for two days only, and with an 81-piece Filharmonika Orchestra playing the soundtrack live. The orchestra will be conducted by none other than the renowned Gerard Salonga.

Star Wars: A New Hope in Concert initially announced two shows only, at 7 pm on September 7 and 2 pm on September 8, but due to “overwhelming demand” and selling out the first two performances, a third show was added. You can now catch Star Wars: A New Hope in Concert at 7 pm on September 8, 2024 as well. The shows will take place at The Theatre at Solaire. This presentation is licensed by Disney Concerts.
