Manila, are you ready for Carly Rae Jepsen? Because we’ve confirmed that she’s oh-so-ready for her second time in Araneta Coliseum! The Canadian singer admitted that she’s all set to rock the dome tomorrow night and serenade us with her hit singles like “I Really Like You” and “Run Away with Me.”
The pop sweetheart graced the press for an intimate round table discussion about her latest album, her songwriting, and her views about love.
Since her last album, Kiss, Jepsen mentioned that she has worked very hard to come up with E•MO•TION, as the process of creating and writing really took sometime. Grabbing the opportunity to work on Broadway in 2014, her new endeavors have definitely opened up more doors to her growth as an individual and as a musician. These experiences inspired her to create more songs, and even admitted that she was able to come up with almost two hundred songs during her break from recording. Ultimately, she’s very proud and happy of her new album, and she’s more than excited to share her music again to the Filipino people.
For her current album, she collaborated with various artists like Sia and Peter Svensson to come up with powerful pop tracks that capture the joys and risks of following your heart. Her tracks were heavily inspired by the music of Cyndi Lauper, and the happy vibes of the 80s. With saxophones, poetic lyrics, and catchy beats, her songs are definitely some of the finest of today’s pop music.
A self-confessed romantic, Jepsen said that she’s always been fascinated with love–how it can be so intimate yet something we can all relate to. She mentioned that she’s the type of person who wouldn’t hesitate to ask you about your love life over dinner, as these type of stories have always been a great inspiration to her songwriting.
Of course, we wouldn’t end the discussion without asking for her words of wisdom. Her advice? “Find someone kind.“
Get ready to dance and sing with Carly Rae Jepsen tonight, September 14, at the Araneta Coliseum! We hope to see you there![fb_instant_article_ad_01]?
