The pop sweetheart graced the press for an intimate round table discussion about her latest album, her songwriting, and her views about love.

Since her last album, Kiss, Jepsen mentioned that she has worked very hard to come up with E•MO•TION, as the process of creating and writing really took sometime. Grabbing the opportunity to work on Broadway in 2014, her new endeavors have definitely opened up more doors to her growth as an individual and as a musician. These experiences inspired her to create more songs, and even admitted that she was able to come up with  almost two hundred songs during her break from recording. Ultimately, she’s very proud and happy of her new album, and she’s more than excited to share her music again to the Filipino people.

For her current album, she collaborated with various artists like Sia and Peter Svensson to come up with powerful pop tracks that capture the joys and risks of following your heart. Her tracks were heavily inspired by the music of Cyndi Lauper, and the happy vibes of the 80s. With saxophones, poetic lyrics, and catchy beats, her songs are definitely some of the finest of today’s pop music.

Of course, we wouldn’t end the discussion without asking for her words of wisdom. Her advice? “Find someone kind.
