Carlos Yulo Claims A Second Gold Medal For The Philippines In Gymnastics

Carlos Yulo has done it again! Quickly being called the Philippines’ ‘Golden Boy’, Yulo has secured a second gold medal for gymnastics at the 30th Southeast Asian Games. He previously won his first SEA Games gold for the men’s artistic gymnastics all-around category.

His second gold was awarded for a spectacular floor exercise routine this Tuesday at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum. The 19-year-old finished with a score of 14.700 which was followed by Thailand’s Surintornta Tikumporn score of 13.833. Coming in at third place was Mat Asri Zul Bahrin of Malaysia with a score of 13.767.

Of course, this gold shouldn’t really come as a surprise since floor exercise is the very event Yulo excels in. It was the same category he proudly claimed the gold in during October’s 48th Artistic Gymnastics World Championship in Stuttgart, Germany.
