Carlo Aquino has humbled himself down and admitted to talk show host Boy Abunda that he may have led his ex-girlfriend and “Exes Baggage” costar Angelica Panganiban on during the time they were filming their movie last year.

You may recall that Angelica had tweeted about avoiding Carlo in January after fans have criticized her for her posts about self-love which they claim is putting Carlo in a bad light. In March, the two have confirmed that they were no longer on speaking terms. Angelica also said in an interview back in June that Carlo “doesn’t exist” in her life anymore because she doesn’t know what’s currently happening in his private life.
On Tonight With Boy Abunda on October 7, Carlo said that he understands and respects Angelica’s anger towards him and doesn’t blame her for it.

“Kung nasaktan ko siya, karapatan niya ‘yon. Karapatan niyang pagdaanan, karapatan niyang ramdaman iyon. Hindi ko dapat pigilan ‘yon. Kaya nung sinabi niya ‘yon, tapos nakarating sa akin, sabi ko, ‘OK lang naman. OK lang’,” he said.
[“If I hurt her, it’s her right to feel hurt. It’s her right to go through it, it’s her right to feel that way. I should not stop that. That’s why when she said those statements and I heard about them, I said ‘It’s okay.'”]
When he was asked if his actions had made him seem “paasa” or that it caused Angelica to assume a possible romance between them, Carlo answered: “Siguro po. Siguro. (Perhaps. Perhaps.)”
He explained, “Mahal ko siya pero mas gusto ko nang mas friends kami. Natatakot lang talaga kasi ako masaktan siya ulit.”

Carlo also admitted that his current girlfriend, Trina Candaza, may have been a factor in his falling out with Angelica. “Na-meet ko si Betrina bago mag-start yung movie. Tapos biglang hindi kami nagkita ng ilang buwan. Tapos after nung movie kami nag-reconnect,” he shared.
[“I met Betrina before the movie, Exes Baggage. And then we didn’t see each other for months. It was after the movie premiered that we reconnected.”]
