CarGel may be history at this point, but Carlo Aquino’s words may have people holding onto that tiny shred of hope.
In a report by Umagang Kay Ganda, Carlo Aquino claims that he is still open to working with his ex-girlfriend Angelica Panganiban in future projects despite their current rift.
Just a few weeks ago, Angelica admitted during a press conference for her daytime series The Playhouse that she and Carlo are no longer friends and have not communicated for a while now. She also rejected any idea that the two will reunite in the future. “Siguro panahon yung makakapag-sabi,” she said. “Kung buhay pa siguro ako nun.”
Issues surrounding the former couple began back in January, when Angelica sent out a number of irate tweets against her followers who didn’t seem at all keen about the rekindling CarGel friendship. She claims that she is fed up with people’s negativity and says she will stop talking about Carlo from then on. Others also started circulating photos of Carlo being with another girl during a beach trip, which ignited accusations of him leading Angelica on.

Carlo, on the other hand, addressed his involvement with Angelica in an interview with ABS-CBN. “As long as okay naman kami ni Angge, speaking terms naman kami, okay na ako doon. Kung ano man ang sinasabi ng mga tao, I don’t feel the need to explain anything. Basta yung mga taong nagmamahal sa akin, yung kilala ako, iyon lang ang importante. Naiintindihan nila ako.”
However, when asked the question of whether or not Carlo made her believe they would get back together again, Angelica only had this to say: “‘Yun ang sabi niya, umasa daw ako.”
