Brotzeit: A Taste of Authentic Bavarian Cuisine and Premium German Beers

HAUPTGERICHTE (Main Course)

They’ve got a lot of great main courses and we decided to chose one from the sea: their grilled Salmon Fillet (Lachs P650) which was on sauteed spinach and then glazed with balsamic sauce. This was served along with parsley potatoes and they were cooked really well! A definite must-try!

Who loves crispy pata? I do! And so, it was nice to try a ‘German’ version of it which was the Pork Knuckle (Schweinshaxn P1,280). A bit pricy alright, but this one can be shared up to around 4 people–don’t trust the picture below since this was only served for us two; so do expect a bigger plate when you order one.

What’s so special about this is that it’s not sinfully clad in oil since it was NOT deep fried BUT baked to a crisp (thereby giving the illusion of oiliness in its facade). This is specifically the hind shank of a grain-fed pork and it is served with potato salad, sauerkraut, and homemade sauce.

NACHSPEISEN (Desserts)

Off to the night enders. We opted first for their Apple Strudel (Apfelstrudel P280) which contained a bit of alcohol and this was served along with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

This was really heavy with its distinct notes of apple and cinnamon with every bite!

And of course, who would ever pass up on the chance to get some taste of chocolate? Brotzeit’s Chocolate Cake (Schokokuchen P270) is your kind of warm lava cake with a gooey center, and then pair off each bite with the scoop of straciatella ice cream with it–then it’s heaven!

Overall, we can say that Brotzeit holds a promise under the supervision of their Executive Chef: Ivan Maminta! We actually made such a grave error of not trying their sausages, but we heard that it’s good! So that’s definitely something worth coming back for among other reasons of returning! They’re surely a bit on the pricy side, but the quality of the food is something that you can surely trust on.

And besides, there’s no need to travel miles and miles away just to check your “Try Bavarian Cuisine” item in your bucket list because Brotzeit is here in the metro to immediately transport you to the Bavarian dining experience.
