21-year-old beauty blogger Bretman Rock recently cemented his place in the online beauty community by winning E! People’s Choice Awards’ Beauty Influencer of 2019. He beat out other influencers such as Jeffree Star, James Charles, Nikita Dragun, Nikkie de Jager, Rachel Levin, Desi Perkins, and Jackie Aina.
However, the win comes as bittersweet for the Hawaii-based make-up guru. Just a few days before the awards show, Bretman shared with his fans that his father was in a coma. He followed the news up one day later by tweeting some dove and heart emojis. So it came as no surprise when Bretman dedicated the award to his father.

“I want to dedicate this award to my dad who has always supported and loved me unconditionally,” he wrote.

He also thanked his fans and mentioned that he first fell in love with make-up because of his grandmother.
