After celebrity best friends Bela Padilla and Dani Barretto made headlines for suddenly unfollowing each other on their social media accounts, television host Boy Abunda has appealed to them both on Tonight With Boy Abunda to fix their friendship.

It was during the #ItanongMoSaTWBA segment of his show when Abunda touched on the topic after he was asked by a netizen online to shed light on why Bela and Dani had unfollowed each other.
“Upon checking, totoo nga [it’s true]. Bela and Dani have unfollowed each other’s IG,” Abunda said.
He then talked to his audience about the friendship between the two.
“Matalik na magkaibigan ang dalawa,” he shared. “Sa katunayan, kung matatandaan po natin, isa si Bela sa mga bridesmaids sa kasal ni Dani noong Abril.”

He also reminded the public about Bela’s previous guesting at TWBA where she explained why she had unfollowed Julia Barretto and why she was spotted with Bea Alonzo in a photo tagged “#ParaKayB” during the height of the controversy surrounding Bea’s breakup with Gerald Anderson.
Bela had clarified that she had unfollowed Julia because of an “Instagram detox” she started in 2018 and that the dinner she attended with Bea and many other celebrities was sponsored by Dreamscape.

“Ang espekulasyon ng ilan, maaaring nakasama rin si Dani sa social media cleansing ni Bela,” Abunda continued. “Dahil one time, nang naging bisita natin si Bela dito sa TWBA, ibinahagi ito ni Bela sa atin—last August to be exact—nagbabawas umano siya ng mga taong sinusundan sa social media. At last year, kasali nga ang kapatid ni Dani na si Julia Barretto sa mga in-unfollow niya.”

“Itong pag-unfollow ni Bela at saka ni Dani [Bela and Dani unfollowing each other]—this is my guess—may have something to do with the friendship. I don’t know what it is,” he added.

“But this is a kind of story na sana bigyan natin ng pagkakataon, ng espasyo, itong dalawa [that needs us to give the two time and space]. Na sana’y maayos kung ano ang dapat ayusin. [That they will hopefully fix whatever needs fixing.] Because this is coming from a very deep friendship,” he continued.
Abunda then appealed to the public to give the two friends time to fix their friendship or to explain their sides.
“Tayo’y nakikiusap na sana’y bigyan natin ng chance si Bela at saka si Dani, because I’m sure, lalo na si Bela, is ready to talk and to tell her story,” he said.
