Growing up, many of us might have found ourselves entering Booksale, a beloved thrift bookshop in malls across the Philippines that sells used and unused books, comics, children’s stories, and magazines. Now, the cherished branch is entering a “new chapter” even as some of its branches close.

In a public statement posted on its official Facebook page, CEO John Sison expressed his gratitude towards the bookshop’s loyal customers.
“As we enter a new chapter in our bookstore’s story, we want to take a moment to thank you, our loyal readers,” it wrote.
It continued: “While some of our branches are closing, we’re excited to continue finding new and creative ways to make reading affordable and accessible as we have done so for the past 35 years.”
The statement also hinted that they have so many “exciting” plans in store for their readers and patrons.
“So here’s to the stories yet to be told and the adventures that await — both on the page and in the world beyond!” it concluded.
According to Booksale’s website, the bookstore operates 91 stores nationwide. They have also opened up a store on Shopee, offering numerous book and magazine titles in English and Filipino.
BookSale continues to provide a wide assortment of novels, children’s and comic books, cookbooks, self-help titles, and magazines for a much more affordable price.
