The red swimsuits are back. Baywatch is officially returning to the small screen with a brand-new cast. Production started this March, and Stephen Amell, Shay Mitchell, Jessica Belkin, Noah Beck, Brooks Nader, and Livvy Dunne were all spotted on set, ready to step into the iconic lifeguard roles.

For some of the cast, this is new territory. Dunne, known for her gymnastics career at Louisiana State University, is making her acting debut. Meanwhile, Nader is taking on her second scripted role.
The series follows Hobie Buchannon (Amell), son of the original show’s Mitch Buchannon. Hobie has become a Baywatch captain, and things change when his daughter, Charlie (Belkin), shows up, hoping to join the lifeguard team and continue the family legacy. Beck, Mitchell, Dunne, and Thaddeus LaGrone play fellow lifeguards, while Nader is a rival captain named Selene.
Original cast member David Chokachi also returns as Cody Madison. Cody now runs a beachside bar but still steps into his red trunks for occasional rescues and serves as a mentor to the new team.
According to the official synopsis, the reboot will feature the same beachside drama, rescues, and personal dynamics fans remember, but with a modern twist for a new generation.
Amell confirmed filming began on March 16, 2026, praising the crew behind the scenes on Instagram.

Belkin and Beck also shared their excitement about joining the series, while Carmen Electra hinted she could make a cameo, joking about handling the classic slow-motion run.
Baywatch originally aired from 1989 to 2001 and starred David Hasselhoff, Pamela Anderson, and Carmen Electra. The reboot brings a mix of returning faces and new lifeguards to the beach.
