Barbie Forteza continues to win awards for her performance in “Maria Clara at Ibarra!”

The Sparkle artist was named “Best Drama Actress” at the Golden Laurel Batangas Media Awards for her role in the historical drama by GMA. This award-giving body honors outstanding creators and public figures in the media industry. Following the awarding ceremony held at the LPU-Batangas campus on July 20, the actress flexed her trophy on social media yesterday.
“Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng bumubuo ng Golden Laurel Batangas Media Awards 2023 sa pagkilalang ito at sa aming programang Maria Clara at Ibarra,” Barbie captioned her post. “Mabuhay po kayo!”

For this award, Barbie bested five other contenders namely, Jane de Leon (Darna), Janine Gutierrez (Dirty Linen), Jennica Garcia (Dirty Linen), Lovi Poe (Batang Quiapo), and her “Maria Clara at Ibarra” co-star Julie Ann San Jose.
“Maria Clara at Ibarra” also won the award for Best Drama Series.
Following its success, she and her leading man David Licauco are set to make their primetime comeback for the remake of the 1991 series “Maging Sino Ka Man.” Read more about this story here.
