Day dreams and fantasies came to life for a bunch of little girls one happy weekend at Barbie’s Dreamtopia Festival last month, which took place in Robinsons Place Manila and was filled with magic and fun, drawing in some memorable fairies with its charm.
The weekend long celebration was visited by mothers and daughters from near and far, armed with their fairy wings and tutus, and ready to have a great time. And enjoy these ladies did. With plenty of ‘pinktastic’ booths filled with fun activities and games, the event was a success all throughout.
There was a booth set for magic wand making, which was a stellar hit for the little ones with creativity running through their little fingers.
There was another booth called the Sparkle Mountain where the sweetlings could have their glitter on while making their very own sparkle jar, and have their face painted with all sorts of shapes, colors, and patterns.
Another booth called the Endless Hair Kingdom was set for the pampering of our little fairies, with a choice between making your own flower crown or having ribbons tied into your hair.
There were more booths spread through the event offering games where you can win the sweetest prices with the roll of a dice, or spend time coloring your dream worlds into reality.
Just look at this cutiepie enjoying her sweet, sweet, sweet victory.
The excitement doesn’t end there, however. Right by the entrance of the actual event was the display of a variety of barbie dolls for sale that include “the Fairytale Gift set Barbie that can turn into a fairy, a mermaid and a princess; The Rainbow Princess that has lighting feature on its gown and hair; and the Snap ‘n Style which lets kids twist, snap and braid Barbie’s hair.” Among the display of these dolls, the organizers also set out Barbie’s Malibu house and townhouse, open for any kid to roam over and play with. Safe to say, it didn’t too long for the children to take free reign over the household.
Curiously enough, this was one of the greatest hits in the event, hitting it off even with some little boys. It most certainly was my inaanak’s favorite feature from the festival.
What was no doubt the hittest of the hit, and the most attended and most anticipated part of the event was fashion show. The open call seem to have reached far and wide, bringing in all the beautiful fairies of the land.
Every mother dressed their little ones to the fullest, and sooner rather than later it was time for them to walk the runway.
By the end, two were deemed the winners and they got their sweet victory in the form of a doll from none other than Barbie herself.
Overall, the day was filled with sweetness, magic, and a thousand never-ending possibilities that these beautiful little ladies could be. All of these thanks to the new and improved Barbie – no longer just a pretty doll, but a true model for girls everywhere. Remember what Barbie said: you can be anything.
