Banzai, The Great Teppanyaki Theater: The BIGGEST Japanese Buffet in the Metro!
Looking for an authentic Japanese buffet? No need to look any further! Just turn your gaze onto the Mall of Asia, the  biggest mall in the Philippines and there you’ll find the Biggest Japanese Buffet in the Metro: Banzai, The Great Teppanyaki Theater! Let’s have a look, shall we?
Upon arriving at Banzai, we were immediately greeted by their friendly staff equipped with big smiles who assisted us to our table. As we entered, a familiar view was laid in front of our eyes. It wast through a TV screen or a magazine, though, but actually right there: Japan!
Banzai’s interiors sets a mood of what dining in Japan would actually look and feel like. With lanterns, furniture and designs that would sweep the diners to the land of the rising sun.
The food is spectacular, too! Mr. Marvin Agustin, one of the owners of Banzai, usually says “Banzai is where the only thing local is water and the only stuff frozen are the ice creams.” A pretty big promise, but they do deliver. All of the food is freshly prepared and their numerous Japanese buffet stations have plenty of delicious dishes just waiting to be enjoyed by people.
I went to the Teppanyaki Station first, enticed by the spatula flipping and other entertaining stunts by the chefs. However, what I was really looking forward to was taking a pick from their delicious assortment of Teppanyaki after the show!
Next up is the station serving ramen. They have multiple ramen dishes that you can choose from. I chose the spicy TanTan Men, which made me even hungrier!
So, onto my 2nd plate… I roamed around this humongous restaurant with the food stations all perfectly located at the middle and found myself near the station serving Pizza, Takoyaki and Kaniyaki! I always love eating Takoyaki because all of the flavours mix in with every bite.
I made my way to the Sashimi, Rolls and Sushi stations afterwards, which has delicious, freshly made sushi! There, you’ll find the Banzai Roll –Â their signature roll, which has tuna and Japanese mayonnaise, as well as a crunchy exterior.
Of course, a Japanese Restaurant wouldn’t be complete without Tempura and Tonkatsu. They also have an Okonomiyaki and Roast station.
They have delicious Yakitori and right next to it was my favorite dish of the night: The Bacon Kani (I apologize to the other diners that I took all the Bacon Kani; I just couldn’t help myself!). The Bacon Kani is basically the love child of pork and crab perfectly cooked and well seasoned, making it the most delicious dish for me.
Banzai also has a collection of scrumptious sweets at the Dessert Station, as well as different drinks for you to choose from like soda, lemonade, beer and chocolate milk. It is perfect for all ages.
Also, Banzai has shows to entertain the diners. Keep watching out for new and upcoming shows as they re-rehearse all of their programs to ensure that they are always fresh and entertaining!
