Bad New Days Releases New Single “Lalayo”

Bad New Days’ latest single might just be the theme song you didn’t know you needed. From melodic lines demanding change (“kung ‘di ka magbabago, ako na ang lalayo”) to the unapologetically stylish rap rendered by up-and-coming star YSSAMEI (Sharice from St. Denis Medical on NBC), the song “Lalayo” is both an encouragement and an ultimatum—walking away might just be the best thing to do.

Bad New Days is proof that long-distance relationships work. Their members Lex, Miguel, and Jedd are based in the Philippines, with overseas members Karen (New Zealand), Yuro, and Mae (Seattle) visiting Manila from time to time. Despite the distance and huge time difference, they work tirelessly to write songs that turn pain and heartache into electrifying music.

The band’s latest offering, “Lalayo,” features YSSAMEI, an LA native, who is dipping her toes into the OPM scene for the first time. Check out this reel on TikTok:
