After years of debating whether I should make the switch from an iPhone to an Android phone, I finally took the leap recently. That’s when I realized that I only had a MacBook in the first place because of how seamlessly it worked with an iPhone.
With an iPhone now out of the picture and my nth MacBook slowly dying on me, I figured it was also time to explore other laptops out there – ones that would allow me to download video games I’ve always wanted to play, one that was heavy-duty enough to take on intense workloads, and one that still looked incredibly awesome at the same time. That’s when I stumbled upon the Zenbook 14X OLED (Space Edition).
Say Hello to the Zenbook 14X OLED (Space Edition)
The Zenbook 14X OLED (Space Edition) ticked all of the boxes in what I was looking for in a laptop:
Powerful Hardware
Above all things, I was looking for a laptop that suited my personal lifestyle. For work, I have to edit videos as well as record voiceovers, so I needed something that had a good amount of storage and that could handle several applications being open and still working seamlessly at the same time.
On the flip side, I also wanted a good screen for my binge-watching and gaming needs, not to mention a laptop that could handle a slew of video games. And that’s exactly what the Zenbook 14X OLED (Space Edition) provides. The colors offer stunning real-life accuracy so you can enjoy your favorite movies and series as well as work on creative projects in the best color fidelity and motion clarity.
Its 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12700H processor ensures that I can get all my work done without any delays and play my video games without any lags. Having said that, though, while I do play a lot of video games and like having a lot of games ready on my laptop, I don’t play any particularly heavy-duty games with amazing graphics, so I haven’t tested the laptop in that department yet.
On top of that, the Zenbook 14X OLED (Space Edition) doesn’t get hot even after prolonged use. This is because ASUS has redesigned the thermal module for better airflow and added the ASUS IceCool thermal technology, a big thermal pad specifically to prevent the device from overheating. No more need to panic or relocate the laptop to make it cooler!
Great Battery Life
Since events and face-to-face meetings have started popping up left and right again, it was also important for me to find a laptop with good battery life. Since I work while in my Grab rides and in coffee shops between events and meetings, I need to be prepared in case there aren’t any sockets available.
Fortunately, the Zenbook 14X OLED (Space Edition) doesn’t disappoint in that area with its 63Wh battery. So far, I haven’t had to panic in search of a socket yet. Granted, I haven’t gone more than one to two hours between meetings plus a couple of hours on the go; but if it does the job well for me, that’s good enough for me.
I also don’t edit videos or record voiceovers when I’m out, but naturally, the battery might drain faster if you expect to use it for more heavy-duty things like that.
A Stunning Design
Without a doubt, the Zenbook 14X OLED (Space Edition) looks absolutely stunning. Meant to commemorate the 25 years from the launch of the ASUS P Series on the MIR Space Station, the device has a Zero-G titanium grey color in a matte all-metal body that gives the laptop a cool yet professional look. It’s sleek enough to be brought to professional settings but also badass enough to flaunt to my friends.
My favorite part is how the ASUS ZenVision on the laptop’s lid can be customized according to my personality or mood. I can choose text messages or animations as I see fit through the MyASUS app and display them on the cover. It’s a cute way to show off my personality or mood for the day.
Overall, I am thrilled with the Zenbook 14X OLED (Space Edition) so far and am excited to see if it’ll last longer than my previous laptops. If you’re looking to get a new laptop, I’d highly recommend this one!
