My family and I went out to dinner last Saturday night to wish my brother a safe trip back to the Philippines. And since my mom wanted to go somewhere that had Shabu Shabu, we decided to Google it! And guess what pops up?! yup! Swish Japanese Hot Pot: Shabu Shabu Restaurant.

Of course we had to check on the rating and read some reviews on it first, so we did, and found out that Swish Japanese Hot Pot: Shabu Shabu is one of the top rated Shabu Shabu restaurants in the area, so we all decided this was the one. Unfortunately, the first location we went to was closed due to maintenance, so we ended up going to the one at West Sahara Ave. none the less, it was still as awesome as we had hoped for!

As soon as we arrived you could already smell the sweet teriyaki soup cooking and hear the sizzling of the food cooking from other customers. My stomach was grumbling already just from the awesome smell of the food! we sat down and the waiter was very nice and helpful! Made dinner along better to have good service along with it.

The set up was very different to me, everyone sat at a bar like table and we each had a pan and some utensils in front of us. We all ordered the New York strip steak shabu shabu and started cooking as soon as it hit the table. And me of course, being my short self, had to stand up and reach over to cook most of the time. Hahaha curse this shortness of mine!

They also had a nice flat screen TV inside to keep you entertained as well. my brothers enjoyed watching their basketball games while waiting for dinner to be served.

The meat was very delicious and the teriyaki-like soup that we cooked it in gave the meat this nice sweet taste to it. I loved it! I’m not a fan of sweet things, nor teriyaki, but this was the bomb! We had to order seconds. The meat was sliced very thin which made it so mush better coz all the flavor from the soup goes right on to the meat without having to marinade it or anything.

We also ordered some deep fried Danny Roll sushi. As you can see, it looks awesome! And it tasted just as awesome. it was a little bit spicy, but I like spicy, so it wasn’t an issue at all. And honestly, I’m not even sure what eel sauce is, but it’s pretty good! This was the first time I’ve ever tried deep fried sushi, and it’s not gonna be the last time!

Finally, to end the night we ordered some mochi ice cream for dessert. And for those of you that don’t know what mochi ice cream is, it’s pretty much just sticky pounded rice with ice cream fillings. We tried all their flavors available of course, which were Chocolate, strawberry, mango and green tea. The sticky exterior and cold creamy ice cream inside made a great combination! And the flavors were amazing! Honestly, I can’t decide which one i loved the best! Haha
