Artistang Artlets, the official theater guild of the Faculty of Arts and Letters of the University of Santo Tomas, on its 33rd season is proud to bring you its 1st Minor Production this coming December.

Artistang Artlets Brings Theater Play “Dyip”

Artistang Artlets is proud to present Dyip which written by Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature awardee, Christian Tordecillas. It will be directed by Jerome Paul Ladan and produced by Therese Renee Janine Zialcita and will be staged at the Albertus Magnus Auditorium, Education Building, University of Santo Tomas on December 4, 5 and 6, 2013. Time slots are 1pm, 3pm and 5pm.

Patriotism or nationalism is one of the strongest qualities of Filipinos and ironically, it is also our weakness.

Despite how we exercise our human rights and try to be part of any political rallies just to gain equality and be heard from our demand, we keep on complaining and blame those in higher positions about our critical conditions given that we did not even do our job well in the first place thus hindering us from improving.

We always think that only those who belong in the political world can make things work but we forget that without us, the citizens of the country, they wouldn’t be sitting in that position.

We have the power to make things work in our own way, and we can change our country by starting change in ourselves first.

Artistang Artlets is confident that the play will give a different dimension with a humorous twist that will surely relate with the viewers.

Along the ride, there will be different personalities that will show the audience their perspectives and representation in life’s big jeepney. Despite of the individual flaws and differences of the characters, they would have common realizations that would make their jeepney ride interesting.

Next time in a jeepney, ask, because when you look to your left or to your right, everyone has a story tell. After all, DIS IS A PREE KANTRY!
