According to “Variety,” the actor will star as Marco, a young man who reunites with his long-lost mother during a high-stakes Asian game show. However, their reunion takes a dark turn when he learns of her monstrous nighttime transformation.
The film offers a bold examination of the overseas Filipino worker (OFW) experience, employing supernatural horror as a lens through which to explore the emotional toll of migration. This serves as Calvento’s tribute to her mother.
The “Variety” also noted that “Mother Maybe” is a tri-national co-production between Southern Lantern Studios (Philippines), E&W Films (Singapore), and Volos Films Ltd. (Taiwan).
As of writing, further details, including the cast and release date, have yet to be revealed.
Jennings rose to fame for his role as Snoop Manansala in the hit series “Canโt Buy Me Love.” He recently starred alongside Maris Racal in “Sosyal Climbers” and is currently part of the action-drama series “Incognito.”
