Andi Eigenmann expressed frustration on her Instagram account after spotting a pile of trash that had been left behind by tourists at a beach in Siargao.
Sharing the photo on her Instagram Stories, Andi wrote: “The least you could do is be mindful enough to take [your] leftover alak and pulutan and kalatย (liquor and snacks and trash) with you after you enjoy a fun night of inuman (drinking) at the beach. Or did you expect our sea patrol kids to be the [ones] to pick up after your trash???”
The pictures showed cans of soft drinks, an empty bottle of rum, water bottles, chips bags, and more that were improperly disposed of.
Let’s all be mindful of our surroundings and respect nature.
Andi has been living in Siargao with her partner, Philmar Alipayo, and her three kids Ellie, Lilo, and Koa. The surfer mom frequently uses her platform to share her love for the island and to appeal to tourists to respect her home and its residents.
Andi and Philmar recently opened their own professional surf school called “Kanaway” with ISA- and SISA-certified Surf Trainers equipped with First Aid and Basic Life Support training. They also have a surf shop for boards and other accessories, as well as a snack bar for people to enjoy some cool drinks and sandwiches.
