Algolympics 2019: a programming competition for college students

The Association for Computing Machinery – UP Diliman Student Chapter, Inc. (UP ACM) is a university-wide organization in UP Diliman and is the first local student chapter of ACM, the world’s largest and oldest education and scientific computing society.

On February 23, 2019 at the Accenture Ideas Exchange Room in the Department of Computer Science, University of the Philippines Diliman, UP ACM will once again hold its annual inter-collegiate programming competition: ALGOLYMPICS 2019.

Inspired by the ACM Inter-Collegiate Programming Competition (ACM-ICPC), ALGOLYMPICS shall send thirty teams of three college students from different schools into a heated battle of logic and strategy.

All teams shall be given twelve (12) stimulating problems to be solved within five (5) hours using the given contest environment. Teams will be ranked based on the number of problems solved as well as the amount of time they spend in coming up with a solution.

Certificates and souvenirs will be given to all participants while exciting monetary prizes await the top three (3) teams:

  • Php 12,000 for the champion
  • Php 9,000 for the first runner-up
  • Php 6,000 for the second runner-up
