Alesso Cancels Manila Show Hours Before Performance

Last September, Alesso announced a headlining concert in Manila this December 17. Yesterday should have been his first Philippine concert in six years. HOWEVER, the Swedish DJ apparently canceled his appearance only hours before the show.

At around 5 pm yesterday, event production and management company Ovation Productions posted an update on their social media saying “doors moved to 7 pm due to inclement weather.”  Pinoy concert-goers flooded the comments section asking for further updates and refunds. A Facebook user even said that they flew all the way from Mindanao for the international DJ as well as Patty Tiu only to be disappointed by the turn of events. They exclaimed, “badtrip!”

Meanwhile, Alesso himself posted a reel during his set in Bali on Instagram at 11 pm yesterday…or an hour before his set performance at the SMDC Festival Grounds. Among the disappointed comments from netizens were: “You have the audacity to post that you had a great time in Bali at the moment that you should have been in Manila. Tell me, how does it feel to disappoint people with your unprofessionalism?”

As of writing, there are still no press releases regarding the incident. It is still unclear why Alesso did not show up at his Manila concert.

Among the supposed performers were Acraze, local DJs Ace Ramos, Martin Pulgar, Marc Marasigan, Rico Arce, KATDJ, Deuce, Katsy Lee, and David Ardiente.
