There is no debating that being a scholar in one of the country’s top universities undoubtedly brings its own fair share of doubts, anxieties, and concerns. To help ease these worries and set the tone for their stay in Ateneo, this year’s batch of freshie and transferee scholars will be welcomed on August 15, 2026, through Ateneo Gabay’s Salubong 2026: MYXkolar Channel at Leong Hall.
Dedicated to championing the importance of education, Ateneo Gabay is a sector-based organization that primarily focuses on Atenean scholars and teaching public elementary students. As part of its back-to-school events, Salubong ensures that every scholar feels at home and welcome in the eagle’s nest. This event will provide them with opportunities to meet and interact with fellow scholars, create meaningful connections, learn from seniors, and find relevant offices and organizations that will help them navigate their scholar life in the Ateneo.
Specifically, Salubong 2026 will feature fun, interactive games, gimmicks, and activities for new scholars to enjoy, tips and stories shared by newly graduated scholars, and talks from the Office of Aid and Admission, the Scholars’ Sectoral Board, and Ateneo Gabay itself. Scholars will also have the opportunity to ask the speakers and representatives questions during the designated Q&A portion and will be provided with lunch.
This year’s theme, MYXkolar Channel, draws inspiration from MYX, a channel dedicated to showcasing the latest and top hits primarily through music videos, with various programs and segments that cater to different genres. Similar to how MYX always made space for every song and every tune on their channel, Salubong 2026 is also anchored on the belief that every scholar, no matter their background, has—and will always have—a place in the community.
