In a Weverse notice, SM Entertainment announced that Winwin is leaving the agency and the boy group.
“Following careful discussions with WINWIN, we have mutually agreed to conclude his exclusive contract, effective July 9. Accordingly, WINWIN will conclude all activities as a member of NCT,” the label wrote.
“We are deeply grateful to WINWIN, who has been with SM Entertainment for more than 10 years since his trainee days. We sincerely thank him for the time we have shared together and wholeheartedly support him as he embarks on a new journey,” it added.
WINWIN debuted in 2016 as a member of NCT U and NCT127, until he suspended his activities with the latter to join NCT’s sub-unit, WAYV. However, the 28-year-old star has been on an indefinite hiatus from WAYV since 2021 to focus on his acting career in China.
His acting projects in China include “Snowfall,” “Perfect Match,” and “A Splendid Match,” among others.
This announcement comes after Mark’s departure from SM Entertainment, as well as from groups NCT 127 and NCT Dream, as well as Thai star Ten’s departure from the agency, though he remains a member of the group.
