“Itaewon Class” to have Philippine Adaptation—Here’s What We Know so Far

Finally! Hit 2020 drama “Itaewon Class” is officially set for a Philippine remake.

According to a report by The Korea Times, the adaptation rights of the hit JTBC drama were sold to the Philippines and Vietnam.

Originally based on the webtoon of the same name, “Itaewon Class” is a 2020 South Korean drama series headlined by Park Seo-jun and Kim Da-mi. The story revolves around Park Saeroyi (played by Seo-jun), who opened a pub in Itaewon after being released from prison.

The drama series garnered multiple nominations and awards after its run. It bagged the “Best New Actress (TV) for Da-mi at the 56th Baeksang Art Awards, “Best Mini Series – Silver Bird Prize” at the 15th Seoul International Drama Awards, and “Best Drama Series” at the 25th Asian Television Awards and 7th APAN Star Awards.

With the upcoming adaptation, the casting for the Philippine remake has sparked excitement among fans. However, the official cast and production details have yet to be announced.
