Hayley Williams Surprises Fans With New Music Drop

Hayley Williams is back—and she’s not holding anything back.

The Paramore frontwoman just released the official music video for Parachute,” the only previously unreleased track from her brand-new album, Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party. Directed, filmed, and edited by Zachary Gray, the video brings to life one of the album’s most emotional highlights.

The song originally premiered as BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record, quickly gaining traction among fans who’ve been eagerly awaiting Williams’s next move since the release of Paramore’s This Is Why.

In August, Hayley surprised fans by dropping 17 unsequenced singles online, sparking a wave of creativity as listeners crafted their own tracklists. Some even built a fan-made site—hayleysingles.com—to share their versions. A few weeks later, Williams finalized the tracks (plus “Parachute”) into the official album, released digitally on August 28, 2025.

The physical editions of Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party are now available for pre-order and will officially drop on November 7, 2025.

A bold, independent era

This album marks a big shift for Williams: after more than 20 years under Atlantic Records with Paramore, she’s now self-releasing under her new label, Post Atlantic, distributed via Secretly Distribution. The album was produced by Daniel James, with contributions from longtime collaborators Brian Robert Jones, Joey Howard, and Jim-E Stack.

So far, it’s already paying off. Her single True Believer earned her first solo Billboard Alternative Sales #1.

What you’ll hear

The record spans 18 tracks, showing off Williams’ unmatched range and storytelling. Some standouts:

  • “Mirtazapine” – a nostalgic nod to late-’90s alt-rock.

  • “Glum” – a haunting meditation on loneliness, with clever vocal effects.

  • “Whim” – a breezy Americana tune rooted in Nashville.

  • “Ice in My OJ” – sharp, witty lyricism that longtime fans will recognize from her early days.

But it’s Parachute that ties everything together—a soaring reminder of why Williams remains one of the most powerful voices in modern rock.

A career that keeps evolving

From Riot! and Brand New Eyes to Grammy wins with This Is Why, Hayley Williams has cemented her place as one of the most influential rock artists of her generation. Beyond Paramore, her solo work (Petals For Armor in 2020 and Flowers for Vases in 2021) revealed a rawer, more introspective side.

Now, with Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party, she’s embracing freedom, experimentation, and independence.

As NME put it: “This brilliant, swaggering new chapter…is driven by curiosity and the need for community.”
