Andrea Torres opened up in an interview with Toni Gonzaga on her YouTube series “Toni Talks” regarding the reason why she still chooses to stay silent on the cause of her split with her ex, Derek Ramsay.
She first looked back on her “controversial public relationship” and the subsequent breakup, saying that it prompted her to have a closer relationship with God. “Super pray talaga ako kasi syempre parang, ‘Paano ba ‘to?’ (I really prayed because I kept asking myself, ‘What do I do with this?’),” she said.

But despite the public criticism for refusing to speak up on the issue, she wants to spare Derek from any hate, admitting that she is already okay with having spoken to the people involved. “Syempre may mga ibang nagagalit kasi hindi ako nagbibigay ng details. Hindi ko naman ikaliligaya na ma-bash ‘yung tao. For me lang walang maidudulot ng mabuti ‘pag nagbigay pa ako ng details kung bakit kami nag-break kasi obviously hindi naging maganda yung paghihiwalay namin. So parang okay na sa akin na nakausap ko yung mga taong involved. (Of course, there are lot of people getting angry because I don’t want to get any details. But I don’t want him to get bashed. For me, nothing good will come out of me giving the details of our split because, obviously, ours wasn’t a good breakup. So it’s already okay with me that I got to speak with the people involved.)”
Andrea then shared that she learned to love herself more after the heartbreak especially after going through depression. She also revealed that she isn’t dating at the moment but is hoping to fall in love again.
“Syempre nasa age ka na rin na iisipin mo, ‘Naku, may time pa ba ako magkaroon ng maraming anak?’ ‘Yung mga gano’n, so hopefully at least makadalawa man lang, [sana] kayanin pa (Of course I’m at that age when I’m thinking, ‘Oh no, do I still have time to have many kids?’ Things like that, so hopefully at least I can have two kids. Hopefully I can still do it),” she said.
When asked to confirm if she’s ready to settle down, Andrea answered simply: “Oo (Yes), with the right person.”
Andrea and Derek were costars in the television show “The Better Woman.” They confirmed their relationship, which has long been rumored, to entertainment reporters in September 2019. They even launched their own joint YouTube vlogging channel called “AnDrek Vlogs.” The two then confirmed their sudden breakup in November 2020. Derek later started going out with Ellen Adarna and got married in November last year.
