Last May, Ogie Diaz announced on his vlog that Liza Soberano is not renewing her contract with him as her talent manager.
Diaz has been Soberano’s manager for the past 11 years.
He said he asked her if she wanted a new contract and that she sent a long message declining the offer. According to the talent manager, Soberano said she wanted to pursue opportunities in Hollywood.
It was also announced that the actress signed to Careless Music, an independent record label founded by James Reid.
During Careless Music’s 2022 trade launch, Soberano revealed what attracted her to sign on to the label.

She said that she has been wanting to work with a young management company and be with one that is fearless when it comes to taking risks.
Soberano said, “It is very exciting and encouraging to see a lot of people [within Careless Music] pursuing their dreams and passion at such an early age and doing it the way that they want to do it. That’s kind of what I seek in my career: to have a lot more creative freedom and control and to [be able to] create my own path and destiny.”

Issa Pressman was also introduced as one of Careless Music’s newest artists. According to her, they were all hanging out as friends when she showcased her then-new single “Monkey Business.” Reid approached her shortly after to ask if she was already signed with a label.
Reid gave a walkthrough of the label’s history, while CEO Jeffrey Oh spoke about their current status and new direction.
Oh expounded on the factors he and Reid consider when it comes to considering new talents to sign, placing an importance on the family dynamic that Careless Music has internally.

He said, “First of all, they should be family. We are a family of risk-takers, willing to support each other.”
Oh also announced the current partnership of Careless Music with Transparent Arts, the artist management and record label company of Far East Movement, based in Los Angeles, California for the company’s global direction.
He then proceeded to share the company’s upcoming plans, which include a mixtape with the entire roster of Careless Music and an accompanying promotional local tour which will culminate at the 2023 Sinulog Festival in Cebu, single releases by Lesha and Issa Pressman, an EP by James Reid, as well as a US and European Tour for the roster and A-Team competitions by February 2023.
