A Pokémon Theme Park Might Be Opening In Universal Studios Japan

OMG, if this piece of news isn’t convincing you to keep praying that your travel plans to Japan will finally push through in the years to come, I don’t know what will!

Universal Studios Japan just announced a major update to its theme park that will hopefully reel in more visitors in the future, all thanks to its partnership with the Pokémon franchise!

The park revealed this through a social media post wherein they shared that their long-term collaboration with The Pokémon Company will “explore groundbreaking entertainment that will immerse guests into the world of Pokémon with innovative technology and creativity beginning in 2022.”

No other details were revealed but by the sound of the press release, fans worldwide should expect more than just Pokémon-themed merchandise or food. It’s still hard to say that Universal Studios Japan will expand once again to build a separate new Pokémon World after they had just opened a Super Nintendo World, but we’re hoping to at least have Pokémon attractions or activities to do around the park. Perhaps something along the lines of Pokémon Go?

Whatever it will be, we’ll be counting the days ’til more news comes about the partnership (and also ’til their borders finally open for travel).
