Anne Curtis Tells Basher Who Wants Her to Stop Singing: ‘I Sing Because I Love It’

Anne Curtis-Smith isn’t going to let one hate comment stop her from doing what she loves: singing her heart out!

On Instagram, Anne shared a clip of her performance in Davao last weekend in which she sang The Greatest Showman‘s “A Million Dreams” to a sea of lights.

However, one follower wasn’t as impressed as the crowd was and didn’t think twice to share their opinion to Anne in the comments.

“You really should stop singing [Anne] I mean you are very good at acting but sorry to say singing is not for you. Just being honest,” the follower said.

Anne then wrote a long reply on why she will continue to sing despite the hate.

“I will continue to sing because I love it. I am aware that I am not a singer and in fact the whole country has known this throughout my whole career. I never claimed I was. I’m actually vocal na sintunado ako (that I’m tone-deaf). Although nag-improve na ako (I’ve improved) throughout the years in fairness to me,” she said.

She then explained that her concerts are purely for entertainment and not to showcase a talent she knows she doesn’t have.

“The concerts I do are for pure entertainment AND the people who buy tickets and attend my concerts go KNOWING WHAT TO EXPECT. They know they aren’t going to hear a beautiful voice but I do promise them a night full of fun and laughter and that’s why I continue to do what I do, because I know I am able to make people happy,” she added.

Anne also shared that, while her Davao performance may be the last stop in her concert tour, it won’t stop her from singing and thus urged her hater to just unfollow her on social media.
