There are some things people don’t like being joked about, especially not on April Fool’s Day. So when Justin Bieber posted a series of photos on his Instagram to trick his followers during the holiday, not everyone was impressed.
It began with Justin posting a sonogram without a caption, which was followed by a photo of his wife Hailey Bieber at the doctor’s office with her hands on her exposed stomach. This led people to believe that Hailey was pregnant and the two were finally expecting their first child. Until that is, Justin posted a photoshopped sonogram with a puppy instead of a baby, with the caption “Wait omg is that a,,, APRIL FOOLS.”
The singer quickly came under fire for the prank by people who claimed it was insensitive to those with fertility issues.

Some people were NOT happy with the prank. Saying it was “insensitive” to people who can’t have children, and some were defensive of Justin. Here are a few comments: pic.twitter.com/tRv6NEkuzR

Justin Bieber knows he’s lacking relevancy that now he’s doing desperate things for attention. Sort your life out man its embarrassing. He’s got real insecurities. Sad that he’s got it all but is nothing

Others came to Justin’s defense, saying that the backlash he received was a bit too much.
Being famous must really suck. Justin Bieber can’t even make an April fools joke. A good clean innocent joke. People suck.

I’m usually not on Justin Bieber’s side but this is stupid. He actually didn’t do anything wrong. It was a joke not a very good one but a joke none the less. I think being upset with him is a little bit of an over reaction.

Why are you apologising @justinbieber? It was funny.
Don’t let the PC cops bully you into feeling bad about a good joke. https://t.co/KyKpfFupc6— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) April 3, 2019
Since then, Justin has apologized through Instagram for his joke, saying “There’s always gonna be people offended, there’s also people who don’t take jokes very well, I am a prankster and it was APRIL FOOLS. I didn’t at all mean to be insensitive to people who can’t have children,” he said. “But I will apologize anyway and take responsibility and say sorry to people who were offended. I truly don’t want anyone to be hurt by a prank.”
Although he thinks it was a harmless joke, he said he understands that it’s not always the case for the person who is at the butt of the joke. “You sometimes just don’t know what will hurt someone’s feelings,” he continued. “Some might have laughed but some were offended .. I think With pranks u sometimes have to roll that dice. ”
As of now, he has not taken down the April Fool’s posts.
What do you think about this? Do you think his joke was too much, or were people just overreacting?
