If there’s one province in the Philippines that’s a bit neglected, it’s Bulacan.
Let’s admit it—when we think of a getaway, Bulacan isn’t exactly what’s on top of our minds. There are more talked about provinces such as Pampanga, Baguio, Palawan, etc. Fortunately, there’s still beauty behind that. The rural area can offer numerous untalked-of gems that is tranquil and beautiful, yet not far and crowded—which makes it even more special.
With more and more restaurants/activities popping out in Bulacan, it won’t be a matter of time until the place would be a popular tourist destination, as well. Â But before that happens, we want you to experience the province firsthand. We came up with a list of places you might want to visit when you go there this summer. If you enjoy good (and not to mention affordable!) food and a nice environment, you’ll love these places.

5. Fortune Seafood Restaurant
There are many Asian restaurants situated in Bulacan, but for the Chinese cuisine, Fortune Seafood Restaurant bags the “best” title.
They serve authentic Chinese food that you will enjoy more with its affordable price. The food there ranges from PHP 100 – 300 per person and is already good for sharing. Their Special Fried Rice coated in an omelette (just like Omurice) and Salted Egg Shrimp are the winner.
If you’re worried about where to park your car, they have a big parking lot at the back.

4. Reyes Strawberry Farm
Who said you have to go to Baguio to see a strawberry farm? Bulacan has their very own version and it is beautiful. With a field that stretches long and wide, you’ll enjoy picking* and breathing in the aroma of the fruits. The farm also has grapevines to give you more options.
Reyes Strawberry Farm has no entrance fee, so you can just stroll around the place whether you’ll purchase or not. What’s nice about this family-owned business is that they’re planning to make their private pool and events place available for booking—perfect for those looking for a nature-inspired venue. The start of rental is still to be announced, but you might want to watch out for it so you could be the one to utilize the lot first.
*Take note that the picking season is optimal during Ber months to early March. It still varies, though. With fruits or not, you’ll surely appreciate the beauty of the place.

3. Endearing Tea & Coffee (E.T.C.)
If Quezon City has a street lined up with a number of restaurants called “Maginhawa”, Bulacan also has a similar street in La Residencia Village. When you get to the gate, just ask the guard where the restaurants are and he’ll gladly show the way.
In this semi-hidden food crawl, we tried a cafe called “Endearing Tea & Coffee” or ETC. This cafe will make you wish they have a branch in Manila because of its affordable food with big servings. The big serving is not even a joke: they have a PHP 100 milkshake placed in a very tall glass to give you an example.
Almost every food in ETC is delightful. Their homemade cakes (Red Velvet and Japanese Cheesecake) are the best and their flavored iced tea and shakes are very refreshing. If you’re into savory, their best-seller is their Nachos. It can serve up to 2 people and comes with a secret sauce that everybody loves—definitely something you should try when you go to ETC.
You can capture the moment easily because they have a fast fiber internet connection. So don’t forget to bring your camera! Their photogenic interior/exterior and food is something your IG feed would appreciate.
If I would rate this, I’d say this cafe is 4/5.

2. Papa Joe’s Luau Restaurant
Papa Joe’s Luau Restaurant is the only Hawaiian-inspired restaurant in Bulacan. So if you enjoy Tiki statues and eating with a flower necklace, this is the place to be.
This restaurant is a fusion of Filipino and Hawaiian. They serve various Filipino food with a touch of Hawaiian which is, primarily, Pineapples. The food there is very savory. They have their Hawaiian Rice, Bagnet, Kare-Kare, Chicken Laing, and many more. Their specialties are the Longganisa Carbonara and Longganisa Pizza, which promote Bulacan’s best.
To cap off the meal, you can opt to have their Flaming Lemonade, which is their house-blended lemonade infused with chili, and the Pineapple Turon. I’ll try both if I were you, to be honest!

1. Leticia’s Garden Resort
Papa Joe’s Luau Restaurant is actually located within a resort called “Leticia’s Garden Resort”. It is a very homey resort that is perfect for families and barkadas. Rightfully so because the place was actually just a house with a very huge lot before it has been transformed into a resort.
The room rates here ranges from PHP 2,000 (Infinity Nipa Room) to PHP 4,900 (Mango Room 13-Bed Dormitory). They also have group packages such the Mango Pool Package (PHP 15,000) and Infinity 1 Package (PHP 25,000). These packages are good for 30 pax so if you divide it among yourselves, this deal is very worth it.
They have kitchen with utensil, karaoke, mango-shaped pool, infinity pool, billiard table, and basketball court to complete the whole experience.
