In a world with its own share of negativity, it’s really so inspiring to see positive stories of goodwill and kind-hearted people.
Just this week, a heartwarming story of such people went viral. It was a Facebook post from Mara Karmela who shared photos of her experience seeing incredible generosity from a stranger.
In the post, Mara shared that she was inside a certain shoe store when she saw some sales people having their picture taken with a foreigner and a young boy. At first, she thought that he was a celebrity. But upon hearing their conversations, she realized that the man had bought the boy a pair of new shoes.
Mara added that after buying shoes, the man asked where they could buy clothes. And in exchange for the shoes, the young boy gave him all the sampaguita he was selling.
According to others who witnessed the whole thing, the man saw the boy outside the store selling sampaguita and barefoot. He felt compassion towards the boy, so he went and bought him the shoes.
Mara says that she wanted to cry at what she witnessed. She shares with WhenInManila.com that it was a bad day for her at work during that time and that all the crazy things happening in the world were taking its toll on her. “It was really a good reminder to not give up,” she said.
This heartwarming story of generosity really proves that there’s always something good in the world. There’s always going to be a reason for us to have faith in humanity.
