Reese Lansangan has been tugging at our heartstrings ever since the release of her debut album “Arigato, Internet!” back in 2015. However, there’s so much more than one layer to this singer-songwriter we’ve come to steadily love. Read on as we learned more things about the not-so-fickle-minded Reese during a “fast talk” and an intimate interview about anything under the sun.

8. She’s an all-around gal.
Having taken up Fine Arts in college, Reese expresses herself through her music and through visual arts. Her book “The Maps that Contain Us” in collaboration with Marla Maniano isn’t just inked with her words, but also contains bits and pieces of her art and layout.
7. She has mastered the style of comfort and chicness.
Reese is an open book when it comes to expressing herself, and her style speaks volumes, as well. When asked if she is more of a heels or a flats girl, she answered that she is the perfect marriage of both: platforms! Reese is in love with platforms – the kind of heels that don’t sacrifice on comfort.
6. She’s a cat person.
“I’m sorry, dog lovers,” Reese half-jokes. Despite not having a cat as of the moment (her mom’s allergic!), Reese is still a self-confessed cat person.

Her surprise EP Of Sound Mind and Memory celebrates its first year anniversary after its release! Did you know that “Wildwood” was inspired by an unforgettable 2-week vacation in New Zealand? It’s about finding peace and joy in contentment, realizing that you don’t need much to feel alive, just the little things that you have right in front of you.

4. She’s a Barney and Friends baby!
Have you ever wondered what your favorite artists are listening to? Do they listen to their own songs? Are Beyonce and Lady Gaga also their own kweens?
We asked Reese about the “embarrassing” songs on her playlist, and she confessed that she has a lot of Barney and Friends songs. How adorable! Don’t you just want to give her a great big hug and a kiss?

Reese pours her heart out in her songs, her clothes, and her art, amongst other things. But if you just can’t get enough of this talented Filipina, you may want to check out her vlogs. She constantly posts about her travels, covers of her favorite songs, and random tips and songwriting challenges!
2. She hopes to inspire creativity in others.
Reese recently partnered with Ford Philippines for “#CreativeBLK”, a campaign that aims to inspire creative millennials to pursue and live out their passions. During their pre-launch, Reese shared how excited she was about the collaboration.
“I look at this as another creative outlet to share my story aside from the music I make. I believe that all of us have our own creative side, so knowing where our Creative BLKs are can help us overcome the challenges and struggles that come with pursuing our passions,” Reese shares. (Fun fact: her dream destinations are Iceland and Africa!)
1. She has been writing songs in Filipino!
Reese surprised us with a snippet of her new song “Pocket”, and told us that two songs in Filipino are in the works! Despite being a fluent Filipino speaker, she admits that writing in the language can be pretty challenging. If there’s one thing we’re sure of, though: these Filipino songs will be just as personal and tagos as the rest.
