Missed MMFF 2024? Here’s When You Can Stream It Online

Did you miss watching Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2024 movies in cinemas? Don’t fret because some of the official entries are now available for streaming on Netflix!

Since May 8, Netflix has officially begun rolling out MMFF entries on the platform. The first to premiere is Jason Paul Laxamana’s Hold Me Close, starring Julia Barretto and Carlo Aquino.

Crisanto Aquino’s My Future You was released on the platform on May 15. Headlined by rising stars Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin, the film garnered numerous awards, such as Best Editing and Best Director, as well as the  Breakthrough Performance Award for Seth.

For the horror movie enthusiasts, Chito S. Roño’s Espantaho has also made it to the streaming platform. For this acting project, Judy Ann Santos received the Best Actress award.

However, three more MMFF movies will be available for streaming this June: Dan Villegas’ Uninvited, Jun Lana’s And the Breadwinner Is…, and Zig Dulay’s Green Bones.

Uninvited, which features an ensemble cast including Vilma Santos, Aga Muhlach, and Nadine Lustre, will begin streaming on June 5. Meanwhile, And the Breadwinner Is…, Vice Ganda’s first departure from her usual comedy entries in the film festival, will be available on the platform starting June 12.

Finally, Green Bones, which received the most number of awards at last year’s film festival, will be available for streaming on June 19. The heartfelt prison drama film, which was topbilled by Dennis Trillo and Ruru Madrid, bagged numerous awards such as Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Child Performer, Best Screenplay, and Best Cinematography.
