On its 15th anniversary, TOYCON Philippines is partnering with Pop! Life Entertainment this 2016 to create the ultimate FanXperience for the Filipino pop culture fans – and I am one of the geeks who is hella excited to experience an insanely leveled-up toy con! They say it will be the biggest celebration of all things associated with pop culture, such as toys, games, movies, cosplay, anime and collectibles – and who would want to miss that?
To be honest, there are a ton of reasons why I am excited for PopLife’s TOYCON 2016, but here are the biggest reasons:

6. The exhibits spell A-W-E-S-O-M-E!
As if the Stan Lee Excelsior exhibit wasn’t enough to get my geeky senses tingling, PopLife’s TOYCON 2016 will also have a ton of other awesome exhibits that I can’t wait to check out, including a Suicide Squad movie exhibit (coz come on – who isn’t excited for that movie?), a PopLife exhibit (which Funko Pop collectors like me are sure to go gaga over), a Kotobukiya and Enesco exhibit (Kotobukiya’s Bishoujo statues are LOVE!) and a Voltes V 40th Anniversary exhibit.

5. There will be a giant Voltes VÂ at the event.
I was never a Voltes V fan, but I’ve witnessed a lot of guys go through the Voltes V craze and I admit I’ve played with a few of the toys behind their backs. Without a doubt, the toys are pretty cool, but imagine a giant version of it in front of you! Well, guess what? A 25-feet tall Voltes V will actually rise at the event – a first in the world and definitely one of the coolest things I can imagine! And oh, did you know that Voltes V will be returning to GMA soon? Clearly lots of geeky things to look forward to this year.
4. I will get to hang out with and meet fellow geeks.
It’s one thing to hang out with fellow geeks and talk about geeky stuff, but it’s a completely different thing to hit one of the geekiest events in the metro and geek out together over everything that you see and experience. The best part is that you get to meet a lot of other fellow geeks in the process and grow your circle outside of the event. Actually, that’s not the best part. The best part is seeing people get really dressed up for the event. Man. If I had the guts (and the looks), I would definitely cosplay, too.
3. There will be celebrities galore!!!
Photo opps, autographs, meet and greets, oh my! Who wouldn’t want to meet Mario Maurer, see what Boba Fett looks like all grown up, stare into the eyes of Twilight werewolves, ask Hodor to hold the door for them, and pretend to be Lois Lane for a day? I don’t think I have enough passes or money to scratch all of those things from my bucket list, but honestly? I’d be more than happy to just see some of my crushes and idols in person – and PopLife TOYCON 2016 will be making that happen!!!!
2. I can’t wait to get my hands on new toys!
I mean, obviously… it’s a toy con, after all. Haha. What makes me extra uber giddily excited, though, is the fact that there will be new Funko Pop! Asia toy exclusive releases again along with flocked Elmo and Cheshire Cat Funko Pops from Big Boys Toy Store and great deals from Filbar’s. I’m a Funko Pop lover and collector and a newbie Hot Toys collector, so I am hoping to get my hands on some good deals and limited edition merch this weekend!
1. They still haven’t announced everything!
Or so I’ve been told. Or so I’m hoping, at least. Yes, deep inside, for some odd reason, I’m still hoping and praying that somehow Stan Lee will actually be able to make it to PopLife TOYCON 2016… can you imagine how amazing that would be?!??
