Can’t get those creative juices flowing? Huskee Digital recently organized MAD Talks: The Creative Brief for all those who need to find inspiration in their own creative journeys. The truth is: creativity is found in everything around us. You just need to learn how to find it.

MAD Talks: The Creative Brief speaker and Senior Creative Director at BBDO Guerrero Karl Garcia shares 5 tips on beginning this creative journey.

5 Easy Ways to Jumpstart Your Creative Journey

5. Solve Problems.

Creativity solves problems, or at least attempts to do so. As shared by the speaker, if you’re familiar with the “Dumb Ways to Die” song and app, then you’ve seen creativity solving a problem. Crowned as the most shared public service announcement in history, this viral sensation was primarily made to remind people to be safe around trains and it was a success! So yes, creativity IS problem-solving! Who knew a problem could be solved by one simple idea? Use your creativity to solve problems around you because ideas are truly powerful.

4. Pursue Something New.

With everything already existing, there’s only one thing you can do: get inspiration from different things and make something new out of it. Remember the McWhopper? This publicity stunt for Peace Day showed us how two different fast food chains can take two of their best burgers and combine it to make something new and exciting. So don’t give up hope, know that there’s still plenty to create!

3. Orchestrate Emotions.

As human beings, there is one thing that truly distinguishes us from animals and that is feelings. Yes, we are vulnerable creatures who put meaning in our day-to-day lives and existence. And if there’s anything creativity does to us that we consciously notice – it is this – creativity touches our hearts. It moves us in ways that we cannot explain. It is through creativity that we are able to express our innermost emotions. It is a universal language understood in all cultures.

2. Tell Stories.

Know that your life in itself is already a story, ready to be shared with others. Remember that each day, there is always a new story to tell about the world around you. As a creative, it is your duty to tell this story in a way that is understandable. Be the voice of the voiceless.

1. Use Science.

Remember when Coca-Cola launched an eco-friendly plant billboard along EDSA to help lessen air pollution? This creative idea shows us that there are truly no limits to what you can create. The possibilities are endless. So go create the world you want to live in, you have the power!
