Samgyeopsal at Gangnam Premium Korean Buffet

subic-harbor-point-foodtrip-18

This authentic “premium” Korean buffet restaurant is the perfect first stop to satisfy your hungry bellies as soon as you get to Subic. Owned by Korean expats who’ve lived in the area for more than a decade, this gem of a place offers all the Korean staples, from mounds of fresh kimchi, to JapchaeBulgogi and Gimbap, and they’re all part of the buffet!

They also offer an array of Filipino dishes that prove to be real winners as well (their Sisig is chunky and crispy, and we couldn’t get enough of the Dinuguan). But the real star of the show is their Samgyeopsal, cooked for you right at the buffet table. At only Php299 per person for an all-authentic Korean buffet (with a selection of Filipino food and desserts) you’d think we’re kidding, but we’re not. 😛

L-R: Nutezel, Celebration, Chocolate Overload and Red Velberry Milkshakes

For sweet treats and double tap-worthy milkshake masterpieces, head over to Sweet Finale. Apart from their sinful mini mango tortes, their bestsellers are their decadent ice cream cakes that come in a variety of flavors (like banana split and Ferrero). For a real Instagrammable spread, however, order any of their monster milkshakes, served in massive mason jars and overflowing with outrageous cookies, candies and cake slices(!).

Since you’re already in the neighborhood, why not check out this popular destination? A guided walking tour of the zoo will sure help with the digestion, and riding in a safari jeep to feed free-roaming tigers in their animal sanctuary gave us a legit thrill!

CBTL has new flavors!

The newest pairs to your favorite chicken pesto sandwich and eggs ben.

Hold up! What’s a commercial coffee shop like CBTL doing in this list?! Well, we just needed something to perk us up in between bites and couldn’t find any cool coffee shops in the area, but got tipped that The Coffee Bean just released their newest coffee beverages, and we knew right away that we HAD to try them!

Say hello to the Oreo Mint Ice-Blended coffee beverage and Honey Apple Chai Latte! Being a Chai Tea Latte girl myself, I personally enjoyed the unique spin on my staple drink. It was a blissful marriage of sweet, cinnamon-y apple pie and spicy Chai latte in a cup – just thinking about makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. <3
