3. CRISPY KARE KARE. ‘NUFF SAID.
This was the highlight of our whole stay. BELIEVE ME. Travelling to Marikina from Fairview was so worth it because of this bad boy right here. Every Filipino loves kare-kare. Every Filipino loves bagoong. Every Filipino loves crispy meat. So, why not a bowl of crispy kare-kare, right?
The best part? It’s so affordable! It’s Php300 for sharing, and Php185 bucks for a single serving with rice.
2. Filipino “lutong bahay” meets a modern twist.
One thing my family and I almost always “argue” about is where to eat. Mom’s go-to meals are the #titasofmanila kinds like veggies and salads, you know, organic stuff. My sister prefers classy places with home cooked meals. On the other hand, being the bunso of the family, my taste is more pambata, and as long as there’s good coffee, my dad’s G. We’re happy Drei’s was able to cater to all of our needs. :p
They offer Filipino food, but they don’t just stop there. What makes Drei’s different is that they constantly innovate their menu by adding modern twists to it. (I heard they’re coming up with budget meals! Hooray!). Allow me to share with you what we filled our tummies with that day:
Kalabasa soup (Php85)
Kesong Puti Salad (Php145)
I’m a sucker for cheese, mom’s a sucker for salads. Guess we both won this round. 5/5!
Lumpiang Sisig (Php160)
Pork sisig with melted cheddar cheese, wrapped in crispy lumpia wrapper?!?? DING DING DING DING!! J A C K P O T.
Ooooh. GIVE ME THE CHEESE.
Beef Tapa Salipcao (Single with rice Php175, Sharing Php280)
Juicy and tender on sizzling plate. Hot, just the way we like ’em.
Pecho Pandan (Single with rice Php175, Sharing Php280)
Marinated chicken thighs, guys. Marinated CHICKEN. THIGHS. #ThankYouChickenGodForTheseGifts
Coffee (Kaling brewed coffee Php50, Iced Cafe Latte Php100)
Barako Brulee (Php150)
Crème brulee with a hint of coffee. Served hot. Yummyy!!
Keso at Milokoton (Php150)
Desserts are the most sacred part of the meal, I always tell my friends. I TAKE MY DESSERTS SERIOUSLY (haha!). These peach and cream cheese spring rolls are a WINNER.
They actually reminded me of peach mango pie, but with cheese and ice cream!!!!! YUMMMM.
