4 Details of the LeBron 16 Low x Titan ‘Agimat’ and Their Meaning

If you follow the Instagram pages of our very own Gilas Pilipinas players, then you might have noticed the sizzling hot kicks on their feet. Those are the LeBron 16 Low x Titan ‘Agimat.’ What makes it more interesting is that it’s inspired by Filipino folklore.

The basketball star’s signature sneakers pay homage to his long yet fulfilling basketball journey. Each pair retells his story of how he became ‘Warrior’ to ‘King’ via the Filipino symbols seen on the shoe. But what do those details mean? Luckily, we got to talk to Nikko Ramos of Titan about the design process of the shoe. “The involvement of LeBron when it comes to his products, when it comes to each colorway, is at such an ultra-high level,” he explains. “You see it in his own taste when it comes to sneakers.” He also talked about how they had a direct link to LeBron James’ team. “If it’s a LeBron product, you know that it’s something that has been relayed to him, has his sign of approval.” Here are 4 details of the shoe and the meaning behind them.

According to Filipino folklore, lightning is the most powerful response you can get from the sky. It is believed to bestow mystical abilities to the brave and strong.

The third icon on the tongue represents the traditional shield of the Bagobo tribe. It symbolizes kingship–a title which a lot of NBA fans associate with LeBron.

Last but not least, this symbol tells of the burning passion that LeBron has for winning. It represents how he battled against odds in order to reach where he is right now.
