15 Filipino Motivational Speakers You Should Hear

10.) Chinkee Tan

Motivational Speakers (12 of 15)

Hi, my name is Mr. Chinkee Tan aka “Mr. Chink Positive.” I’m a radio host and anchor of Chink Positive at 92.3 News FM and the recipient of the  20th KBP Golden Dove Awardee Best Special Program. I’m also an author of the best-selling books Till Debt Do Us Part, For Richer and For Poorer, Always Chink Positive and many more. I’m a wealth and life coach, and have shared the stage with international speaker Mr. Nick Vujicic. I have spoken not only in the Philippines but also at international conferences such as Brunei, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Australia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Thailand.

Chinkee Tan usually talks about money: how to create it, how to handle it, how to make it grow, and how to protect it. “Creation is key in order for you to become rich. I have never witnessed anyone who became rich without knowing how to make money…[But] even if you are good at creation, if you do not know how to save and budget money, it will not last that long…It is not how much money you make or save but how much money you grow. Learning how to invest and make it grow is essential so that you can prepare for retirement…Even if you can create, handle and grow your money, if you fail to protect it, everything you saved will just go to emergency events in life, such as accidents, sickness and untimely death of a breadwinner,” he ellaborated.  “Money was scarce and people treat you based on your social standing. It made me feel uncomfortable and there was a sense of social injustice. That is the reason why there is so much passion for me to inspire others to become financially free and debt-free. Helping others to maximize their potential and reach their dreams is my mission in life,” he said. “First rule in inspiring others is you should be first inspired yourself. You can never give what you do not have, you can never teach what you don’t know. That is the reason why I never stop learning, through reading, attending seminars and also having personal mentoring sessions with my mentors. As I get inspired, I do the same for others.” Chinkee also gave a warning to people who might be feeling down. “It is a proven fact that you will make bad choices or decisions when you are emotionally down and upset,” he said, “Make major decisions when you are up and experiencing success.”

8.) Sean Si

Motivational Speakers (14 of 15)

My name’s Sean Si. I’m 25 years old and a new dad just a few months ago. I’m mostly known for being the CEO and founder of 2 companies: SEO Hacker, an internet marketing and SEO company in the Philippines and Qeryz: a conversion rate optimization and microsurvey tool. I talk about a lot of different topics. However if I am to choose which one I’m mostly fond of, it’s talking about starting up a company especially while you’re young. I started SEO Hacker when I was 22 (that was 3 years ago) and it’s been a blast! I want the young professionals out there to know that it’s the best time to embark on their own start-up – simply because of the huge boost in marketing due to social media marketing and SEO.

“God.”

This was Sean’s answer when I asked him what his source of motivation is. “That much is enough to motivate me. When I know I’m at the center of His will – and He’s got me right where He wants me, I just keep on pushing forward.” He also talked about how business inspires him. “I’m a businessman at heart (I refuse to believe that it’s because I’m Chinese). I just love the game of starting something up, providing jobs, and creating value for the world.” When asked about motivating others, he said, “There’s no better way to motivate other people than to meet them where they are. Most people who need motivation are experiencing some kind of crisis in their lives. So I tell them my failures and where I was before – and how I got here to where I am now. It’s pretty awesome knowing you’re not alone and it’s not too late or too impossible to rise up and pursue your dreams.” Sean also gave a reminder to those who are going through a rough time:  “People who are victorious and successful in life aren’t there because they were much better than you. They were there because they failed, they learned and they got up again.”

You could reach Sean through sean@seo-hacker.com, his Motivational Speaking website, and through these social media accounts: Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and LinkedIn.

7.) Jayson Lo

Motivational Speakers (6 of 15)

Jayson Lo is an entrepreneur by heart. He pioneered companies in various industries and has been in the field of sales and marketing where he has consistently been at the top 10 in their organization of thousands. Jayson’s mission is “To inspire and help people to be the best that they can be.” His talks are usually on personality development. He has written a book entitled  YOUnique “Understanding Others by Understand YOU,” which talks about the four different kinds of personalities. He talks about values formation to unearth the foundations to success, leadership and its challenges, customer service and sales, where he has extensive experience.

Jayson is motivated by his conviction that God created him for this purpose. “This is my calling and I would be doing this for the rest of my life. I am very fortunate that this line of work has provided me something I’m very passionate about and at the same time has now become my source of livelihood.” He also talked about his family and the lives of people he has touched  as a source of his motivation. “My wife and my two kids motivates me like no other, my work won’t have much meaning without them. And the lives of people that I can touch even in a small way. For me, “To Speak is to Serve.” When asked about how he motivates others, he said, “The best way to motivate others is to share your own weaknesses and failures in life. A speaker shouldn’t have himself in mind but his audience in mind every time he speaks. Motivating people is sometimes moving them from bad to good, or from good to great. And the primary aim should always be to move people to greater heights.” When someone is completely down, he said, “First, don’t look at yourself, look at other people. Help other people solve their problems and you will be surprised, your problem would be smaller than it seems. The late Zig Ziglar said, “Help enough people get what they want so you can get what you want in life.” Second, Look to God. God is the only one who can give us purpose in life. And if you know your purpose in life, even the biggest problems would have meaning. Problems or challenges we face become tools to make us stronger, wiser, and more dependent on God and can empower us to fulfil our purpose in life.”

6.) Jonathan Yabut

Motivational Speakers (15 of 15)

I’m Jonathan Yabut, a passionate marketer, traveler and foodie! I’m the Season 1 Winner of The Apprentice Asia and currently based in Kuala Lumpur as AirAsia’s Chief of Staff. I talk about grit, passion, success and stories about “making it big”. I motivate and inspire folks to become bigger and better. I always say that “you can never be too small to dream big”, and that only “time is the enemy of the ambitious.”

“Knowing that someone or something can potentially change from bad to good, or good to great motivates me,” he shared. “Life is all about change, and when you change for the good, life becomes worth spending.”

“I share stories of failures and challenges and how those people (including me) have overcome them. There’s nothing more effective than sharing examples with people whom they can relate to and say, “Hey, I was just like her, and I can be better like her too! If she can do it, of course I can too! I’ll be a better person!” When asked about what to tell someone who feels down, he said, “Someone out there in this world has a problem WORSE than yours. And that person will likely get through. And so you can too. Time heals and resolves everything, it is a matter of how you pass that time. Surround yourself with the right people to cheer you up, and remind you that life is worth it because of them.”
