If you’re tired of the usual – movie date night or going out to dance – then, it might be time to spice things up. Of course, you have your go-to date spots but if you don’t want the romance to fizzle, you should be open to trying new date spots that might even become your new favorites.

We rounded several date spots in and near Metro Manila where it might be awesome to have that secret date.

These places might also be great if you want to keep that date on the down-low just because.

10. Liam’s Gourmet Cafe

Tucked somewhere in Circulo Verde (a township located in Calle Industria, Bagumbayan, Quezon City), Liam’s Gourmet Cafe offers comfort food served in a comfy ambiance. The brainchild of Chef Melisa Rocha, this restaurant serves the culinary perfection of Western Cuisine and local heirloom dishes to delight every customer.

9. Balestier

Named after American consul Joseph Balestier, this restaurant is tucked away in the east — Marikina City. Balestier offers classic flavors that are tied up with modern tastes. The restaurant has a minimalist vibe that is perfect for couples who don’t want being cramped in confined spaces.

When it comes to its food, the flavors are playful and interesting. In a way, Balestier pushes the boundaries but is sure to make you fall in love.

8. Poco Deli – Kapitolyo

What used to be a tiny neighborhood deli has already blossomed into a meat institution in the metro. Poco Deli is known for making handcrafted, wood smoked, traditional charcuterie, cold cuts, and bacon slabs since 2008. They only use prime meats, Angus and Kitayama Wagyu Beef and European and US Pork.

Although not-so-secret anymore, the Kapitolyo branch is still undeniably a great date place when you want to keep things low-key while you enjoy mouth-watering artisan sausages paired with good wine.

Poco Deli also has branches in Ayala Triangle and BGC. Recently, it opened another branch in Coron, Palawan.

7. La Spezia

Hidden in a residential area located a few meters off Tomas Morato on Scout Dr. Lazcano St., dining at La Spezia is like spotting a rare gem. Although the restaurant has been around since 2016, it remains a mystery to many, but one thing is for sure, if you want tasty Italian food that is as legit as it can get, this is the place to go to.

6. The Community Kitchen

Found in Metropoli Drive along Libis, The Community Kitchen is a relaxed bistro that cooks up casual French-Italian cuisine, freshly baked bread, and homemade gelato every day. This restaurant takes pride in creating food that’s uncompromisingly delicious, made with much care, bringing the freshest ingredients from different community producers to the dining table.

Away from the hustle and bustle of the central Makati district, Chesa Bianca is a quaint restaurant along Yakal Street that features the Swiss cooking. You can enjoy a weekly menu of sumptuous international home-style cooking prepared by a Swiss chef, as well as the best fondue and classic Swiss dishes.

Chesa Bianca’s menu items include veal, pork, chicken, and fish marinated in succulent sauces and spices, a Swiss cheese fondue selection, Swiss-style raclette cheese served with boiled potatoes, cocktail onions and gherkins and a lot more. The restaurant has a vast array of affordable wines from all over the world to suit any palate.

Agimat is not the typical Filipino bar and restaurant that serves the usual wine, beers, cocktails, and food options. This restaurant may have that olden Filipino folk vibe and they demonstrate local rituals, but their food and drinks are unique. They serve their own classic drinks and food in a bar (all of which are local). Their bar-kitchen has a dark folk ambiance where you will spot faux branches accompanied by anting-anting hanging on each branch.

The restaurant is popular for its elevated homecooked meals that are both surprising and satiating. Now, Made Nice is in a more posh location in the Rockwell Center neighborhood.
