Baguio is known for many things. Besides being the summer capital of the Philippines because of its cool climate, the food, and the annual Panagbenga flower festival, Baguio is known for its ube jam from the Good Shepherd Convent. When people travel to Baguio, friends and relatives usually ask for a bottle or two of the purple gold.

But what if we told you that you can get a taste of Baguio’s best in the middle of EDSA?

And that you can help someone with every purchase?

Fides Minella Lladoc-Mendoza shared a photo on Facebook of a man she saw along EDSA near Megamall, selling boxes of ube.

According to Fides, “If you happen to pass by this man selling ube in EDSA near Megamall, please buy from him. His ube will bring you memories of Baguio. ”

She shared that this man stands along EDSA the whole day, from 7AM to 9PM. “I mean, literally stands there. He must have suffered from a stroke, yet he perseveres to earn honestly. Please help by sharing.”

Now this is a man to look up to. Rather than just be a bum, he chooses to be productive and sell ube. But we wonder, where is his family? Are they supporting him? In the meantime, let’s all go to EDSA near Megamall and see if his ube is just as good as Baguio’s finest. Now you don’t have to drive up to the summer capital just to get a taste.
