We decided to explore more of the local area, as well. The Sacred Valley is peppered with historic towns and villages dating back to the ancient Inca civilisation. Ollantaytambo is probably the most original and picturesque, still keeping much of its traditional culture.

The ancient Incan streets, houses and waterways are even more beautiful by night.

On our last day, we visited the historical city of Cusco and the gateway to the Sacred Valley. It’s unique for its blend of Incan and Spanish Colonial architecture.
Of course, the greatest reason that people visit Cusco and the Sacred Valley is to experience the engineering genius and magic of the great city in the sky!
However, if you’re looking for something more than a photo opportunity and a big tick on your bucket list… if you’re looking for some true adventure, then check out the Skylodge Adventure Suites, Peru!
