Out of the Box Art Project: For the Creative Youth

Out of the Box Art Project is formed by a group of friends who are bonded by a shared interest for music and the arts. The team aims to set off a creatively different kind of art scene through organizing regular visual-art related projects, which will provide refreshing avenues for the youth to liberally share their talents and interests.

Their very first art fair, ImaginOcean, is an act of art and environmental activism in a fun and youthful way. According to Out of the Box Art Project’s director, Jel Suarez, ImaginOcean aims to support marine life awareness through art appreciation and expression, provide an avenue for the youth to showcase their talents and interest with visual-arts, and promote awareness and involvement of the youth to marine life protection with Save Philippine Seas.

On October 13, the creative youth can make use of art as an expression of their love for the sea through an on-the-spot painting contest, which will take place at Moonleaf Tea Shop in Maginhawa, Quezon City. ImaginOcean is open to two groups of participants: Group A for 7-11 year olds and Group B for 12-16 year-olds. Registration fee is Php500 only. Find out how you can register below.

Your little marine savers’ works of art will be judged by visual artist Zean Cabangis, Moonleaf Tea Shop marketing Director Thysz Estrada, and representatives from Save Philippine Seas. Winners will get prizes from Punchdrunk Panda and Moonleaf Tea Shop. During the event, there will be a short talk by the head of Save Philippine Seas, Anna Oposa. There will also be live musical sets by Don’t Bogart the Can…Man!, Hannah+Gabi, Outerhope, RomCom, and Slow Hello.

When in Manila ties up with this earth-friendly project and we encourage you to delve into the ocean of possibilities on how each of us can contribute to being aware with our marine life and preserving it, even through the humblest ways.
