Yup, This Is a Sign: Starbucks Unveils Christmas Merch and We Want Them All

It’s that time of year once again, and we’re talking about the holiday season! From Christmas trees to tinsel and huge parols brightening our homes, there’s no doubt that it remains a festive occasion.

Just as homes and families are geared for Christmas, many brands have also been hard at work—launching limited-edition promos, Christmas sales, and holiday-themed products. And giant coffee brand Starbucks Philippines is no exception.

Just like clockwork, we can expect tons of holiday-themed merch from Starbucks. These include the annual 2021 Starbucks planner and organizer, along with festive tumblers and cups, and even a special blend of coffee—exclusive for the holiday season.

And lucky for us, we got a firsthand look at these goodies. That’s right—we unboxed a box from Starbucks (try saying that fast three times) and here’s what they have for 2020.

“The presence of Starbucks has been continuously felt in the holiday celebrations of Filipinos,” shared Keith Cole, Starbucks Philippines Head of Marketing and Category. “This year, our global message Carry the Merry is an invitation for everyone to celebrate the spirit of the season, by sharing the love and gratitude through Starbucks holiday staples that bring them cheer.”

A much-anticipated affair that has Starbucks fans lining up for drinks in exchange for stickers, this year isn’t any different. The 2021 Philippine-exclusive organizer and planner comes in 4 colors—designed to reflect every Starbucks customer.

“We speak in a family of harmonious elements to bring focus to every interaction our customers have with our brand,” the coffee shop said in a statement. “This is an ode to our wonderfully diverse customers, who have evolved with us throughout the years that they may find a deeper connection to the Starbucks Experience.”

2021 Starbucks Organizers

The organizers come with a sleek multifunctional carrier, which allows you to store more items, as it comes with more pockets for your essentials. These include your IDs, credit cards, hand sanitizers, or just about anything you can keep in it. In addition, the organizer set comes with a notebook, bookmark, and stickers inside.

Starbucks fans can choose from two designs: the pastel Starbucks Frappuccino Coral Pink Organizer or the sleek Starbucks Reserve Black Organizer. The former features a more playful and fun design—perfect for the expressive and colorful customer. Dubbed by Starbucks as “your personal invitation to the funhouse, where everything and anything is possible,” the Starbucks Frappuccino Coral Pink Organizer features a foil-lined drink on the notebook and rose gold zippers for the carrier.

On the other hand, the latter pays tribute to the premium coffee lineup of the brand, reflected in the classic yet minimalist design of the organizer. With rose gold foil embossed to show the Starbucks Reserve logo on the notebook and silver zippers for the carrier, this organizer makes a great addition to meetings or casual events.

2021 Starbucks Planners

This year’s Starbucks planners feature a hardbound PU leather cover and eco-friendly paper. These pages are produced in a facility that’s certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). Said organization is an independent, non-governmental, and non-profit organization that promotes responsible management of the world’s forests. And this is in line with the coffee shop’s commitment to supporting sustainable movements.

Much like the organizers, these sustainable planners come with a bookmark and stickers. And yes, you have two options to choose from: the Starbucks Siren (Green) Planner or the Starbucks Teavana Youthberry Planner.

Starting off with the traditional Starbucks green planner, the iconic Starbucks Siren makes an appearance on the leather-bound cover. A familiar sight for regular customers, this design is meant to show a friendly face that is recognizably Starbucks.

As for the Starbucks Teavana Youthberry Planner, which comes in a bright yellow hue, this version is meant to showcase a fun and modern side to the brand. With a refreshing, vibrant, and youthful appearance, the iconic Starbucks mermaid tail is dyed in a shining gold motif to dazzle fans.

Starbucks Christmas Blend and Starbucks Cards

Starbucks Christmas Coffee

Coffee is the lifeblood of Starbucks and just as it offers a diverse array of ground coffee that you can easily brew at home, its limited-edition Christmas coffee comes in two choices: the Starbucks Christmas Blend or the Starbucks Christmas Blend Espresso Roast.

The Starbucks Christmas Blend is made with a combination of dark roasted beans from Guatemala, Colombia, Papua New Guinea, and the highlight: rare aged Sumatra. It’s a sweet and spicy cup with notes of herbs, spices, and a velvety rich chocolate finish. Truly a festive blend!

This year, the Starbucks Christmas Blend whole bean coffee will be offered in VIA and Origami variants, along with a ground version for easy brewing through a coffee press or drip. Plus, they make easy and convenient gifts, too!

On the other hand, the Starbucks Christmas Blend Espresso Roast is a deeper, darker version of the Christmas Blend—made for espresso drinkers. Made with Latin American, African and Indonesian beans with rare aged Sumatra for a complex flavor, the resulting taste is a plummy sweetness and an earthy spiciness. However, this version only comes in whole beans.

Starbucks Cards

Although the Starbucks cards we know and love have transitioned to a more environmentally-friendly paper version, the designs remain as diverse and as festive as ever. This year’s Christmas-themed cards, for instance, feature 4 styles: the Maligayang Pasko, Snowman Card, Holiday Tree Card, Holiday Animals Card and 2020 Red Cup Card. The Maligayang Pasko, Snowman Card, Holiday Tree Card and Holiday Animals Card will be available for an initial
activation amount of PHP 300, while the Red Cup 2020 Card available for an initial activation amount of PHP 500.
