Yasmien Kurdi Gives Birth to Second Child

Yasmien Kurdi and her husband, Rey Soldevilla, welcomed their second child! On April 28, the “Starstruck” alumna gave birth to a baby girl via caesarean section (CS).

She shared her birth story on social media, along with photos of the procedure, revealing she initially wanted a normal delivery. However, she opted for caesarean section on the day of her labor after finding out that her caesarean section scar is still thin.

“I wanted to have VBAC (Vaginal birth after cesarean section) or Normal delivery this time on my 2nd pregnancy. After series of tests nalaman namin na manipis pa din pala ang CS scar ko even after 11 years – not a good indication. Di na namin itinuloy because of many high-risk possible scenarios and we opted for CS the day I labored [After a series of tests, we discovered my CS scar is still thin – not a good indication. We didn’t push through because of many high-risk possible scenarios and we opted for CS the day I labored],” she wrote.

Yasmien also revealed that her baby had a cord coil, a condition where the umbilical cord wraps around an unborn child’s neck.

“We also found out during the procedure that the baby had a cord coil. It actually was a good call that we opted CS because if we tried VBAC we would have ended up doing CS still,” she added.

“A #cesarean (C-Section) is a life saving procedure for women like me.. I chose to do whatever it took to get my baby out healthy and safe!”

The celebrity mom also thanked the doctors and nurses who assisted her. As of writing, she has yet to reveal her daughter’s name.

In November 2023, she announced that she’s pregnant with her second child.

Yasmien and Rey have been married since 2012. They welcomed their firstborn, Ayesha, in November of the same year.
