Yamaha Explorers Camp With PG-1
Its Philippine launch was kicked off with the Yamaha Explorers Camp With PG-1. Upon the arrival of the new Yamaha PG-1 to the Philippines, moto vloggers rode them from the YZone Flagship Shop in Mandaluyong City straight to Camp Hiatus in Tanay, Rizal on May 25. Film enthusiasts and media partners joined them from the Yamaha Riding Academy (YRA) safety briefing at YZone, the stopover at Imprint Customs Cafe in Antipolo, up to the camping farm where riders got to spin the newest motorcycle. Basically, thatโs from the paved city all the way to rough roads and water crossings! And thatโs just day one.

Explorations opened to the public on day two! The thrill of the camp continued at Bridgetown in Pasig City on May 26 with flat track test rides; deals from R.O.X., Imprint Customs, and YZone; and other activities. Customized Yamaha PG-1 motorcycles by Iron Macchina were also showcased at the event in the city.

Moto vlogger Maki MOTO Aganon mentioned his relief at finally getting his hands on the much-awaited Yamaha PG-1 motorcycle. Meanwhile, motorcycle enthusiast and filmmaker Toby Martin expressed surprise at how โa simple bike to be so able to do what it does.โ
It might appear โsimpleโ in hindsight, but the new Yamaha PG-1 is actually designed for rugged performance. In fact, content creator Teddy Garcia Jr., mentioned the Yamaha PG-1โs lightweight versatility among its exceptional features, making it easy to handle from the paved road to rough roads.
Motovlogger Jemarie Sun a.k.a. Idol MOTO also braved the challenges of competing for the Best Photo, Best Reels, and Top Explorer awards during the camp. According to her, โLahat ng ginawa namin today are challenging but surprisingly, โyong suspension ng PG-1, thatโs my favorite.โย
Expounding on the new Yamaha PG-1โs suspension, Idol MOTO continued, โSobrang ganda ng play ng suspension ng PG-1 when it comes toโฆ on-road, off-road, nag-city kamiโฆ sobrang gaan ng handling. And at the same time, sa rough road [at] river crossing, na-try talaga namin โyong suspension. Very smooth โyong play ng suspension ng PG-1.โ

โAestheticโ doesnโt always mean โcomfortable.โ Yet, the reliable motorcycle brand marries these concepts in the new Yamaha PG-1. Its classic upright handlebars allow for a comfortable and natural riding position, thanks to their optimized height and width. In addition, the thoughtfully designed dual seat provides ergonomic support for extended journeys. Although divided into front and rear sections to accommodate a passenger, the generous rider seat also provides improved control and freedom of movement.
- Efficient and Convenient
The new Yamaha PG-1’s heart is a 115cc fuel-injected engine. This engine is designed to find a sweet spot between strong low-end power (often called “torquey”), user-friendliness for riders of all experience levels, and fuel efficiency. This balance is achieved through Yamahaโs optimized design for the combustion chamber, intake system, and exhaust system.
Speaking of efficiency, this lightweight adventure bike features a 5.1-liter fuel tank. Riders will also appreciate the conveniently located refueling cap, positioned under the rider’s seat for easy access even with luggage loaded on the passenger seat.

Finally, whatโs behind the new Yamaha PG-1โs impressive adaptability to various terrains? This motorcycle tackles both roads and trails with ease, thanks to its dual personality! It can handle city streets with its mini scrambler setup, then switch to a full-on outdoor scrambler for dirt road adventures. Furthermore, its block-patterned tires are paired with a 190-mm ground clearance, so the chances of hitting obstructions are reduced as well, enhancing its capability on any terrain.
